NEW YORK PURGATORIAL SOCIETY (NYPS) MISSION STATEMENT

Under the patronage of St. Michael the Archangel, the mission of the NYPS is to pray daily and offer Masses for the holy souls in Purgatory.

MEMBERSHIP and NEW PAYMENT INFORMATION | NEW YORK PURGATORIAL SOCIETY

  • Enrollment of deceased family members and friends in the society’s Masses.
  • Members will join in daily prayer (one Our Father, one Hail Mary, one Glory Be, and ”Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
  • Members assist monthly at a Sung Requiem Mass in the Dominican Rite at the Church of Saint Vincent Ferrer, 869 Lexington Avenue (at East 66th Street), New York, NY 10065.
  • A Solemn Requiem Mass offered annually in early November—traditionally the month we commemorate all the faithful departed. We’re most grateful to the Very Reverend Fr. Peter Martyr Yungwirth, O.P., pastor of the parish of Saint Vincent Ferrer and Saint Catherine of Siena—for his gracious hospitality.
